Saturday Night and other thoughts
Had a real good time this Saturday. Saw Million Dollar Baby, Hung out at Planet M, walked a bit around CST and colaba and Finally washed it all down At Cafe Mondegar. Typical Evening I might say. The movie was good. A lot has already been said and heard about it already...So I shall refrain from doing that. I loved the entire concept of narrations used in such a movie...The bits done by Clint Eastwood and by Morgan Freeman. Also evident in the last scene was this concept of Symbolism that sumier keeps talking about..I hope I got it right here...In the last scene when Clint Eastwood pulls off the respirator tube, only the left side of Morgan freeman's face was visible in the background..The side in which he turned blind years ago during a fight....So he actually Turned a Blind Eye to the Mercy killing of Maggie....Anyway...that's how I perceive it atleast :) The story moved at an easy pace, but was gripping nonetheless. Hence, I was justified in being a bit irritated when My bud sitting next to me made his restlessness obvious when he kept Fanning himself with a CD cover all along;) It reminded me of the time we all saw LOTR-The fellowship of the ring....Rohan constantly kept asking us questions all along and we actually had to cater to him by offering him very detailed and narrative explanations:). Speaking of reminders, everytime i see a movie these days, I'm reminded of the good old days when it used to more than 10-12 of us going for a movie together. That may never happen again. I guess that's what Sumier means when he keeps saying that people have moved away....Partly at least. I've been having similar thoughts all along last week when tentative plans to go to GOA were being chalked up. We're kinda going to have to make do with just the four of us when the last time around i can recollect at least 14 of us being there. Well, I'm not asking for all the14..But at least I could have 3-4 more of my best buds back here. I guess this is how things will be for all further outings...Maybe it could be worse...Maybe no outings or get-togethers at all. I hope that does not happen.
